Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your first session. This allows time to fill out a client history form and to discuss your needs for the session. This opportunity will help me take a personal approach to set up the treatment plan necessary for you. I will then explain to you what will be happening during your session and then leave the room so you can disrobe and lay on the massage table, under the sheet and blanket.

You will have complete privacy while dressing and undressing. You will be covered with a sheet at all times with only the body part I am working on exposed. Most clients will remove their outer and undergarments. However, I want to work with your level of comfort so I will meet your needs wherever they may be. I will knock before re-entering the room.

Please inform me of any changes that need to be made to make your session more comfortable. Open communication is welcome and will make your experience a more relaxing and enjoyable one.

Should I talk during the massage? [ back to top ]

Many people just close their eyes and completely relax. Others like to talk during their session. Feel free to ask me questions about massage and bodywork in general or about the particular technique you are receiving.

Why should I drink water before and after the massage? [ back to top ]

It is recommended that you drink plenty of water before and after your massage therapy session. Water is needed to maintain a healthy body, a clear mind, and a good balance within your tissues - keeping hydrated is essential for good health.

Will I be covered during the session? [ back to top ]

You will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed.

How long will the session last? [ back to top ]

The average full-body massage or bodywork session lasts approximately one hour, added time allows for more specific work. A half-hour appointment only permits time for a partial massage session, such as neck and shoulders, back or legs and feet.

What happens after my massage? [ back to top ]

After your massage is complete, I will leave the room, wash my hands and sit in the waiting area while you quietly relax into your body for a few minutes. You may then dress in privacy and meet me in the waiting area. We can discuss your session and develop a future treatment plan, if desired. I may send you home with instructions for stretches and/or exercises which, when practiced, will assist in you meeting your treatment goals. Massage can both stimulate and relax your body/mind. You may experience a variety of sensations, both emotional and physical. Allow yourself to simply be with whatever sensations arise.

Are there any medical conditions that would make massage or bodywork inadvisable? [ back to top ]

Yes. That's why before you begin your session, you are asked general health questions. It is very important that you inform me of any health problems or medications you are taking.

When do I pay for the services? [ back to top ]

Payment is expected at the time of service. Cash, check, Visa/MC accepted. You may pay before the session or after. It’s up to you. Tips are appreciated, but not expected or required. Referrals are the very best tip you can give me!

There is a 24-hour cancellation policy. A $30 charge will be assessed for a non-cancelled appointment.
